Location

The conference will be held in the Conference Center at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino, Incline Village, Nevada.

Program Description

This conference is designed for the orthopaedic specialist and allied health professionals involved in the care of patients with knee, shoulder and sports medicine injuries. The faculty will present current techniques for the evaluation and surgical treatment of a wide range of knee and shoulder conditions. There will also be updates for treatment of ankle, elbow and wrist injuries. The course format will include a series of lectures followed by panel discussions. The attendees will be able to question and closely interact with leading experts in the field of knee and shoulder surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine.

Program Objectives

At the conclusion of the program, participants should be able to:
  • Understand historical surgical techniques and results
  • Discuss current techniques for knee and shoulder treatment
  • Discuss options and reasons for changing techniques
  • Identify current diagnosis and treatment for other joints
  • Outline the classification, prognosis and treatment of knee and shoulder conditions with emphasis on sports medicine
  • Discuss sports trauma updates and treatment
  • Explain knee and shoulder injuries, treatment and rehabilitation
  • Identify new and on-going modalities for joint therapy and rehabilitation
Accreditation

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the University of Nevada School of Medicine and Lake Tahoe Orthopaedic Institute. The University of Nevada School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education to physicians.

The University of Nevada School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 14.75 Category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.
